In Advent, it gets dark early in the upper Gurktal valley. At Ebner 1822, we light the kerosene lanterns. Their light falls on the paths between the nature houses. Perhaps you have just returned from a walk. You hang up your coat, place a pot in the stove and stay a little longer in the living room. It is night outside, and for today you have nowhere else to go.
A morning that belongs to you
The next morning the first light falls over the meadows. Your organic breakfast basket stands in front of the door. You pour some coffee and set the table by the window. Perhaps you already know where you want to go today. Perhaps you’ll have a second cup first.
Our holiday homes in Gnesau are built of wood, straw and clay. Each has its own kitchen, a fireplace and a freestanding bathtub with a view out. When you come in from the outside in the afternoon, you can take a bath or continue reading in the living room where you stopped the previous evening.
Three Advent Markets for a trip from Gnesau
If you want to visit a Christmas market in the afternoon, you have several options from Gnesau. In Bad Kleinkirchheim, the Starry Road leads through the Advent village. In Velden, the floating Advent wreath is reflected in the Wörthersee. And in Villach, you can stroll through the old town between the stalls.
- Christmas Market in Kirchheim in Bad Kleinkirchheim
- Veldener Advent on the Wörthersee
- Villach Advent in the Old Town
Perhaps you’ll stay for a drink of punch until it gets dark. If you’d rather go for a walk nearby, we’d be happy to tell you about the trails currently available in the upper Gurktal.
Back home in the natural house in the evening
Perhaps you have brought something from the market that you would like to serve at dinner. In your kitchen you can cook at your own pace. If you would rather have Barbara cook for you, please contact the village inn before your arrival.
The lanterns are glowing on the way back to the house. Inside you can add one more chapter. And the book is there where you left it.
