Advent, Christmas and New Year's Eve at the holiday home in Carinthia | Ebner 1822<\/h1>\n

Outside, the tires are getting used to the first rays of sunshine. After a snowy night, our guests look out over the white meadows and the snowy landscape of the upper Gurktal valley. In the nature house, the fire in the fireplace burns brightly. On the table are coffee and the good things from the breakfast basket. One still stays seated, looks out the window and drinks a second cup of coffee.<\/p>\n

At Ebner 1822 in Gnesau, in the K\u00e4rnten Nock Mountains, we decorate our small village for the Christmas season. As soon as dawn breaks, petroleum lanterns light up the paths between the houses. Candles burn in the village pub. At the aperitif, people gather around the fire in front of it, warm their hands, and chat with each other.<\/p>\n

We prepare for the holidays with good food and personal interactions. Our guests keep room for their own Christmas traditions.<\/p>\n

Christmas in your own natural home<\/h2>\n

A recipe that is cooked every year. A certain song. A book that you have saved for the holidays. If you spend Christmas in a different place, you can bring along familiar things.<\/p>\n

Our three Natural houses made from wood, straw, and clay<\/a> We offer the perfect setting for this. Brick walls, oak beams and the view of the winter landscape shape the living environment. In the equipped kitchen, you can prepare your own Christmas dinner. If you prefer to be pampered, our food can also be served to your home.<\/p>\n

Perhaps you spend Holy Night together, phone your family and go out again after dinner. The lanterns guide you through the Christmassy-decorated village. Back at home, you put wood on the fire and make yourself comfortable.<\/p>\n

Christmas Eve: Church and a meal together<\/h2>\n

Our village pub is open on Christmas Eve.<\/strong> Anyone who wants to, will be accompanied by us beforehand. 16:00 for the Christmas service in the Evangelical Church<\/strong>. Guests are welcome to join us.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, you will dine in the village inn or in your own natural house. The candles are lit in the dining room and the table is set. If you would prefer to spend the evening on your own, we are happy to serve the meals to your home.<\/p>\n

Please discuss your wishes with us before your arrival. This way we can prepare the Christmas dinner and you will already know that everything is taken care of for the evening when you arrive.<\/p>\n

A breakfast with a view in winter<\/h2>\n

On the holidays, the morning can begin more peacefully. The breakfast basket is included in the stay. You set the table in your own home and have breakfast at your own time.<\/p>\n

While the sun shines on the winter meadows outside, there is time inside for a conversation. A bit more coffee, a slice of bread, a look at the snow-covered slopes. Whether you follow that up with a walk or stay with a book by the fireplace is up to you.<\/p>\n

If you would like to go hiking, we are happy to recommend a suitable winter route or a destination for your excursion.<\/p>\n

Appetizer by the fire and candles in the village pub<\/h2>\n

With the dusk, the flames of the kerosene lanterns along the paths become visible. In front of the Village pub<\/a> The fire burns. For the aperitif, people gather outside, holding their glass in hand and moving a little closer to the warmth.<\/p>\n

The candles are already burning inside the table that has been set up. Barbara is standing in the kitchen. Those who stay for dinner take off their jackets and sit down to eat.<\/p>\n

Barbara cooks with regional and mostly organic ingredients. What comes to the table depends on the season and what is available in good quality. The Dorfschenke is certified organic; origin and careful preparation are part of its cuisine.<\/p>\n

You can also cook your own meals or have Barbara prepare them for you on other days of the holiday. We will discuss the respective opening hours and options in advance with you.<\/p>\n

During Advent: a trip to Velden<\/h2>\n

Those who want to combine their days at the farm with a visit to a Christmas market will find it at Veldener Advent on the W\u00f6rthersee<\/a> A destination for an afternoon and early evening outing. A stroll by the lake can be combined with a warm drink and time spent browsing the market stalls.<\/p>\n

The Veldener Advent will take place in 2026 November 20 to December 20<\/strong> Instead. It is open from Friday to Sunday and also on December 7th and 8th. The exact opening hours and the program can be found on the linked organizer's website.<\/p>\n

Winter trails in the upper Gurktal<\/h2>\n

On sunny winter days, the tire glitters in the shadows for a long time, while the open meadows are already in the light. After snowfall, the view of the landscape changes. Steps and the crunching under the shoes accompany the walk.<\/p>\n

After returning home, the shoes are placed by the door. The hands are once again warm. Perhaps a bath with a view of the outside world will follow, as the last rays of daylight disappear over the mountains.<\/p>\n

New Year's Eve with a menu at the Dorfschenke<\/h2>\n

At the turn of the year, we have a New Year's Eve menu at our village pub.<\/strong> The table is festively laid, the candles are burning, and from Barbara's kitchen come the dishes for the last evening of the year. To go with this, a good wine and time for conversation.<\/p>\n

You can also spend New Year's Eve in your own natural home: cooking together, looking back on the past year, or playing cards by the fireplace. Those who ate at the village inn will later return to their home on the paths lit by oil lamps.<\/p>\n

On the first morning of the new year, you have breakfast at your own time. Outside lies the winter landscape, and in front of you is a day that you can create yourself.<\/p>\n
