a return to something original<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our farm <strong>Ebner 1822<\/strong> is located in the upper Gurktal valley in Carinthia and was first mentioned in a document in 1822.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we wanted to build new holiday homes there, we asked ourselves a simple question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How do you build houses today where people can really find peace and quiet?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The answer lay not in new technology - but also <strong>Carbon from the atmosphere<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clay - the natural climate regulator<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A second central building material is <strong>Clay<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clay has been used for thousands of years and has properties that modern building materials can hardly match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clay walls can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Absorb and release moisture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Binding odours and pollutants<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compensate for temperature fluctuations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>create a very pleasant indoor climate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In our chalets, all interior surfaces are <strong>hand-applied clay plaster<\/strong> designed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The surface remains deliberately lively - each wall bears the signature of the craftsman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wood - the living building material<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wood is perhaps the building material that has the most direct effect on people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Studies of the <strong>TU Graz<\/strong> show that rooms with visible wood:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>lower the heart rate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce stress<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase well-being<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In the chalets of <strong>Ebner 1822<\/strong> we use local wood from the region -
